Homeopathic Medical and Research Conference

The American Institute of Homeopathy is hosting a Medical and Research Conference, entitled Homeopathy 2000, on June 21 – 24, 200 in Washington DC.   Presentations on Homeopathic Pharmacy will include Economic and Regulatory issues, the role of the Homeopathic Pharmacopia.  A spokesman from the Food and Drug Administration will also speak on Federal regulations for Homeopathic Drugs.  Other conference sessions will include reports on research, clinical studies, homeopathy in all areas of health care, education, and political issues surrounding complementary health care topics.

The conference will open with a gala rededication celebration of the Hahnemann Memorial, one of  Washington D.C.’s most unique monuments. The Hahnemann Memorial commemorates Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the physician founder of homeopathic medicine.  It is the only monument in the nation’s capital dedicated to a medical doctor.  The centennial rededication by the American Institute of Homeopathy (AIH) is the public highlight of the 4 day scientific celebration of homeopathy as a contemporary cornerstone of alternative health care in the U.S.  The Wyndham Hotel, site of the 4 day conference, is located across the street from the Hahnemann Memorial at 1400 N. St. NW,  Washington, D.C.

“ This conference will be exciting for all pharmacists,” says Eric Foxman, R.Ph., Secretary of the American Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists and a presenter on the conference Panel on Pharmacy Issues.  “In my consulting work, I often meet pharmacists who do not know homeopathy is the only legally accepted complementary medical modality.  There will be a wealth of information presented which will assure pharmacists of the unique legal position of homeopathy in the United States, and strengthen their confidence in providing these medicines to their customers.  The conference will also provide helpful information so pharmacists can use homeopathic products to expand the range of effective medicines which they offer their patients.  In conjunction with the Centenary Rededication of the Hahnemann Memorial, this will be a special opportunity to be a part of history as well as experience contemporary scientific research.”

The AIH originally dedicated the Hahnemann Memorial on June 21st 1900, and presented the monument as a gift to the citizens of the United States.  President McKinley, cabinet members, prominent homeopathic physicians and thousands of members of Washington society attended the dedication of this impressive memorial to Dr. Hahnemann and his work.  The AIH is the oldest national medical association in the United States.  Founded in 1844, the AIH membership is comprised of medical doctors, dentists, osteopathic physicians and other medical professionals practicing homeopathy.

All pharmacists are invited to attend the Medical and Research Conference: Homeopathy 2000.
