Washington Homeopathic Pharmacy (WHP) began in 1873 in Washington, DC. It was common in those days to have a homeopathic company in every city - essentially serving the needs of those in the area.
Joe and Linda Lillard bought the pharmacy in 1991, and renamed it Washington Homeopathic Products. In 1993, with homeopathy back on the rise, the Lillards set up a branch in Berkeley Springs, WV - It is called Homeopathy Works and the focus there is bulk manufacturing, sales to retail stores, pharmacies, small chains, and private label companies. There is also a small homeopathic museum.
WHP is one of the last of the old time homeopathic pharmacies -- little of the set-up has changed at the Bethesda location since 1900 -- they make and maintain all the single remedies (over 1,600) and ship to individuals, veterinarians, physicians, etc. There have been some modernizations. The 1930’s machines were added in the 50’s, and Lillard bought into the computer world in 1995.
In addition to the single medicines we also manufacture over 70 combination medicines for people, 11 for horses and 8 for pets.
We do private labeling for ten other companies and can provied consultation for those wishing to consider thier own product line.
WHP is one of the few full line companies—we make just about everything and will get what you need if they don’t make it. In order to be your one stop shop, WHP has added several lines from other homeopathic companies including Boericke &Tafel, Hylands, Boiron, Heel, and Weleda.
We also manufacture our own ointments, oils, tinctures, LM potencies, dilutions, Cell Salts, and 10 different kits.
